Hope A. Apollony, 90, of Plantation, FL passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born June 24, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY to Dwain and Anne Smith. She is survived by her daughters Christine Donaldson of Eugene, OR and Cynthia (Thomas) Hurst of Aztec, NM; brother Dwain W. Smith of Margaretville, NY; sister Joan Gaetano of Hicksville, NY; grandchildren Eliyh Donaldson, Sarah Luther, Ruth Donaldson, Rachel Lewman, Rachel Seagrave and Renee Davis; 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Hope worked most of her life as a secretary/administrative assistant, including over 20 years...

Hope A. Apollony, 90, of Plantation, FL passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born June 24, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY to Dwain and Anne Smith. She is survived by her daughters Christine Donaldson of Eugene, OR and Cynthia (Thomas) Hurst of Aztec, NM; brother Dwain W. Smith of Margaretville, NY; sister Joan Gaetano of Hicksville, NY; grandchildren Eliyh Donaldson, Sarah Luther, Ruth Donaldson, Rachel Lewman, Rachel Seagrave and Renee Davis; 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Hope worked most of her life as a secretary/administrative assistant, including over 20 years at Wometco Cable in Miami. After her retirement, she volunteered at Plantation General Hospital twice a week for almost 20 years, once being honored as "Volunteer of the Year".
Hope was a member of the Plantation United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and singing and was involved for many years with the Miami Chapter of Sweet Adelines - a women's barbershop organization. Hope was also a longtime member of the "Going Bye-Bye Tent" of the Sons of the Desert - The International Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society.
